Roughness information example
The roughness of the land site has a strong impact on the local wind climate. Much work can be saved from having access to digital maps from the area of interest. We offer downloading and processing of the information for your area and delivered in your preferred format (GRD, ASCII XYZ, GeoTiff...).
Availability
The roughness information is available between 72 °N and 31 °N, and between 11 °W and 32 °E with a spatial resolution of around 3 arc sec (~100 m).

It allows a precise representation of the roughness and can be easily use by software such as WAsP, WindPRO, WindFarm, GH WindFarmer, WindSim, Meteodyn WT ...
This roughness information is based on the Corine Land Cover 2000 (CLC2000). It is produced by the European Environment
Agency (EEA) and its member countries in
the European environment information and
observation network (Eionet). It is based
on the results of IMAGE2000, a satellite
imaging programme undertaken jointly by
the Joint Research Centre of the European
Commission and the EEA.
It was transform in aerodynamic roughness length and is available through Dataforwind
